Property: 1.White powder or paste 2.Soluble in diluted acid and ammonium salt and almost insoluble in water and alcohol 3. Solubility in water (18°C) is 0.9mg/100ml 4. Moh’s hardness is 2.5 5. Refractive index is 1.56 6. As temperature reaches 350°C, it begins to decompose into magnesium oxide and water 7.
